Class 1 Driver

About the role
We are taking all applications right now
ProCur Industrial Ltd. is an Edmonton company with more than twenty years of operating history here. Our Metals division works as a scrap subcontractor to Prime Contractors and Alberta operators carrying out AER Directive 058, 060 and 067 decommissioning work.
We are hiring a Class 1 driver to run roll-off trucks and semis between well sites, our processing yard and our laydown yard. Local Alberta work, home every night.
What you need to apply
Read this part carefully
Our commercial auto insurer will not add a driver to our policy without all three of these, so we cannot put you to work until we have them.
- A valid Alberta Class 1 licence with air brake (Q) endorsement.
- A current commercial driver’s abstract. You can pull this yourself at any Alberta registry agent.
- A commercial driving experience letter from a previous employer. Our insurer requires that it be on that company’s letterhead, signed by an officer of the company, dated, and that it states the vehicle type you drove, how long you drove for them, the insurance company and policy number they carried while you drove for them, and any claims during your time there.
No experience letter in hand yet?
Apply anyway and start requesting it from your former employer today. It is the slowest piece to get and it is worth beginning early.
What helps
- Roll-off truck experience
- Any oil and gas tickets. H2S Alive, First Aid, CSTS and ground disturbance are all an asset.
- Experience working on active or decommissioned lease sites
- Comfort working around heavy equipment in a scrap yard
What we offer
- Full time hours, weekends off, home every night
- Benefits after three months
- Steady local work with an Edmonton company that has been here more than twenty years
- Safety run properly. We use SiteDocs as our system of record and we are in good standing with WCB Alberta.
Some roles are funded through a wage-subsidy partnership with BGS Career Ventures. If that applies to you, we walk you through the intake before any start date. It is not a barrier.
