On-lease mobile shearing

A Vibraram XS3000 hydraulic shear on a Case CX240 24-tonne hydraulic excavator, working at your wellsite or facility. Surface vessels, piping, tubing and rods cut to transportable size where they stand.

Why shear on lease

Cutting at the site changes the economics of the whole scope

  • Fewer loads. Material cut to size loads to density. Fewer trips, less haul cost charged against the project.
  • No oversize permitting. Vessels and structural sections that would move as oversize loads leave on standard gondolas.
  • Less torch time. Shearing displaces most oxy-fuel cutting, which removes hot-work permits, fire watches and ignition risk from large parts of the scope.
  • One mobilisation. Cut, load and haul are a single crew and a single mobilisation, not three.
  • Cleaner streams. Material segregated at the cut point grades better at the mill, and under Net Scrap Share that is money that flows back to your project.

How we run it safely

Mobile shearing is the highest-energy task we perform, and it is procedurally controlled

Shearing is governed by ProCur Safe Job Procedure SJP-01, Revision 1.0, which carries a 100-foot (30-metre) exclusion zone around the shear during active cutting. On-lease work adds SJP-05, which applies the shearing, material-handling, oxy-fuel and load-securement procedures to a customer or Prime Contractor lease. Every shift opens with a field-level hazard assessment and a documented equipment pre-use inspection in SiteDocs, and every operator carries a signed acknowledgement covering SJP-01 through SJP-05.
